I recently applied for a position. What happens next?
  • A recruiter reviews all applications on file and identifies the candidates whose skills and abilities best match the job requirements of the position.
  • Only candidates who possess the necessary skills are considered.
  • The recruiter will contact these candidates via email or phone to inform them about the next steps in the application process.
What if I forget my password or user name?
  • Go to PHEAA.org.
  • Click the Careers link (upper right corner).
  • Click the Job Openings link, which will open in a new browser window.
  • Click the Login Help link.
  • Enter either your user name or email address and select the appropriate button.
  • We will email you the new login information.
What if I want to review/update my contact information or application?
  • Go to PHEAA.org.
  • Click the Careers link (upper right corner).
  • Click the Job Openings link, which will open in a new browser window.
  • Enter your user name and password, and click the Login button.
  • To review/update your contact information, click the My Profile link and view/edit information as needed.
  • To review/update your application, click the Applications link on the Careers Home page and view/edit information as needed. If a posting is closed, you will be unable to edit any information on that particular application.
Do benefits begin on the 1st day of employment?

For full-time staff employees, most benefits, including health care coverage and life insurance, begin on the 1st day of employment.

Non staff employees who work an average of 30 hours per week will be eligible to enroll in a Bronze Plan for health care coverage on the first day of employment.

Does PHEAA provide a retirement plan?

All staff employees and wage employees (call center employees in entry-level positions) contribute toward the State Employees' Retirement System (SERS). The employee contribution rate is 6.25%, which is automatically deducted each pay period on a pretax basis. In addition, PHEAA contributes to each employee's account in SERS.

What type of paid leave does PHEAA offer?

PHEAA employees benefit from a generous paid leave program. There are four categories of leave: annual, sick, personal, and compensatory. All staff employees are eligible for annual, sick, and personal leave. Wage employees (entry-level call center employees) may be eligible for annual and sick leave after working a minimum of 750 hours. They may earn compensatory leave as an alternative to paid overtime.

Does PHEAA provide parking? What is the cost?

PHEAA provides parking to employees free of charge in three separate lots:

  • Parking garage attached to PHEAA Headquarters
  • Gated lot across from PHEAA Headquarters on 7th Street
  • Parking lot at the Westport facility

Parking is on a first-come, first-serve basis and cannot be guaranteed. Designated handicapped parking spaces are available.

What is PHEAA's dress code?

Employees contribute to the corporate culture and public reputation of PHEAA through their dress and personal appearance. Some business units enjoy business casual attire, whereas others require professional business attire.

Are PHEAA facilities tobacco-free?

In keeping with PHEAA's intent to provide a safe and healthy work environment, smoking is prohibited throughout the workplace, although there are designated smoking areas outside. This policy applies equally to all employees, customers, and visitors.

Is there an on-site cafeteria?

A full-service cafeteria is located at PHEAA Headquarters. There are a variety of food stations, including a grill, salad bar, hot entrees, and premade options. Snack and beverage vending services are also available.

Our Westport facility has three designated break rooms and offers vending services that include sandwiches, snacks, and beverages.

Are there other services available to PHEAA employees?
  • PHEAA Child Care Center—PHEAA offers an affordable child care center on site at PHEAA Headquarters. Openings and enrollment are based on current capacity.
  • PHEAA Fitness Center—PHEAA offers a fitness center at PHEAA Headquarters that is open 24 hours a day, including holidays. The fitness center has a variety of equipment, including free weights, treadmills, elliptical trainers, stationary bikes, and weight machines. Locker rooms with showers are also available. Members must pay a small fee to join.
