SciTech Scholarship
SciTech Scholarships provide up to $3,000 per year based on total educational costs (tuition and mandatory fees, room and board, and an allowance for books) for a maximum of 3 years (with certain exceptions for approved 5-year degree programs).
Eligibility requirements
To qualify you must:
- Be a resident of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Be a high school graduate.
- Be at least a sophomore who is enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in an approved science, technology or allied health field at an approved Pennsylvania public or private college or university.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the time of application and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) throughout postsecondary study.
- Complete an approved internship or relevant work experience (credit or noncredit) in a field related to your major with a Pennsylvania company prior to receiving a degree. For more information, see SciTech Work Experience (Internship) Guidelines (PDF).
- Begin employment in the state within 1 year after completion of studies, 1 year for each year that the scholarship was awarded. You must provide verification of continued employment (PDF) every 6 months. See the Commonwealth Workforce Development System website for information about employment. If you begin full-time graduate study within 1 year of receiving your bachelor’s degree, you may request deferment of the work obligation. - Apply for a Federal Pell Grant and Pennsylvania State Grant.
