Work-Study Employers
PHEAA applauds your interest in providing real-life work experiences, as well as additional financial aid funds, to students pursuing higher education in Pennsylvania institutions. Through two programs—the State Work-Study Program (SWSP) and the Community Service Program—Pennsylvania employers can employ Pennsylvania residents enrolled in a PHEAA-approved postsecondary institution.
The State Work-Study Program is available for both nonprofit and for-profit organizations and businesses. The Community Service Program assists Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations to employ Pennsylvania students in positions with vital services that may not otherwise have been available.

We offer the following materials to help you better understand and implement the State Work-Study Program in your business:
- The State Work-Study Times (PDF)—This publication offers both students and employers information about how the State Work-Study Program works. It also outlines changes to the program, such as filing deadlines for the current year.
- Employer Request for Access to the PHEAA Work-Study System Via the Internet (PDF)—This form lets you apply for access to our online Work-Study System, so you can:
- Submit student applications electronically.
- View students' eligibility online.
- Update your contact information.
- Report student earnings information electronically.
- View disbursement information online.
- Automated Clearing House (ACH) Authorization Form (PDF)—All participating employers must complete this form so we can reimburse via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
- State Work-Study Program Hourly Time Report (PDF)
- Business Partner Access Management System—This Web-based application allows you to electronically request individual user access to the PHEAA Work-Study System.
