Our Community Partners
We want to open as many avenues to pursuing higher education as possible. If your organization works with youth from grades 1-12, people who are trying to go back to postsecondary school, or individuals enrolling for the first time, we are interested in talking to you.
Higher education involves a four-year college or university, a community college, a nursing school, a business school or a trade and technical school. The type of school in which a person enrolls should not prevent applying for financial aid. Students may be aid available from both the state and federal government.
If your organization is interested in joining the list of participating community partners, or if we can help you provide this information to your clients or employees, please contact a Regional Director.
You may request copies of our financial literacy and career and college planning material by using the Request for Materials to Guide Planning for Higher Education or by contacting the Regional Director who serves your county. We also provide the following services free-of-charge:
- Services to increase awareness of the importance of completing secondary school and the importance of higher education and career planning:
- Advertising the free EducationPlanner Website.
- Training sessions in using the EducationPlanner site.
- Distributing free materials to help students complete their elementary and secondary school education then plan for career/college.
- Providing workshops and user guides for community agency personnel in the use of our early awareness material.
- Advertising and conducting early awareness workshops for students and parents.
- Helping to finance transportation costs to educational sites (museums, historical sites, colleges) for middle and high school students.
- Bringing motivational speakers to classrooms to talk about the importance of graduating from high school.
- Providing support for job and career fairs and community agency workshops to promote higher education.
- Services to increase awareness of financial assistance programs to help pay for higher education via:
- Workshops for community agency personnel on financial aid programs.
- Speakers for "financial aid nights" sponsored community agencies.
- Free materials concerning financial assistance programs for higher education.
- FAFSA completion workshops for high school seniors and their parents.
- Promotion of education savings opportunities for parents by working with TAP.
- Dollar-for-dollar matches for private scholarships from eligible non-profit, community-based organizations in our PATH program.
- Services to promote the importance of financial literacy:
- Providing workshops and user guides for community agency personnel on financial literacy.
- Distributing free materials relating to financial literacy.
