PHEAA Welcomes Representative Jaret Gibbons to Board of Directors

Harrisburg, PA (April 25, 2013)—PHEAA announced today that State Representative Jaret A. Gibbons has been appointed to its Board of Directors by the Speaker of the House, Sam Smith.

Representative Gibbons represents the 10th Legislative District serving parts of Lawrence, Beaver and Butler Counties. Representative Gibbons is the Democratic Chair of the Subcommittee on Finance Services and Banking and serves on the Committee on Ethics, Environmental Resources & Energy, Professional Licensure (Democratic Secretary) and the Tourism & Recreational Development Committee.

Representative Gibbons position on the PHEAA Board of Directors allows him to use his experience as an advocate for families to serve hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvania students throughout the Commonwealth.

Representative Gibbons earned a bachelor's degree in political science and business administration from Duquesne University. He graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate and Certificate in Comparative and International Law.

He is active in his community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Lawrence County Community Action Partnership and the James A. Finnegan Foundation. He is also involved in the Ellwood-Wampum Rod and Gun Club, the Slippery Rock Sportsman Club, Slippery Rock University Political Science Board, and the PA Community Development Bank Operational Committee Board.

Representative Gibbons was first elected to the House in 2007. He resides in Franklin Township, Beaver County with his wife and two children.
