Reorganization and additional staffing enhance Agency's public service mission

Harrisburg, PA (December 29, 2010)—PHEAA announced today that it has reorganized its Pennsylvania School Services operation, formerly known as the Education Services Group (ESG), to better serve Pennsylvania students, families, schools, legislative and civic groups, and its community-based partners.

Pennsylvania School Services has been restructured to align more closely with the changing student financial aid industry and to better address the needs of its varied constituents in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania School Services has increased its staff of student financial aid professionals with thirteen newly-created Higher Education Access Partners and two managers located regionally throughout the state who will promote PHEAA's programs and services.

"By blending our various outreach and school services activities into a unified operation, PHEAA's Pennsylvania School Services is better able to fulfill its mission throughout the Commonwealth with greater depth, flexibility and efficiency," said Representative William Adolph, PHEAA Board Chairman.

Higher Education Access Partners will conduct financial aid presentations and FAFSA® Completion Sessions, promote PHEAA's career and college planning website, offer counselor workshops, support awareness of state and federal grant opportunities, and work specifically with lower-income students and secondary schools with low college attendance rates—all while strengthening relationships with like-minded organizations to create greater awareness of the importance and availability of higher education.

Pennsylvania School Services will continue to work directly with postsecondary schools across the Commonwealth offering training events and informational workshops, working with the Pennsylvania Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators on various training projects, and acting as a resource for schools as they manage and implement regulatory changes to the student financial aid programs.
