PHEAA Welcomes Murray Ufberg, Esq. to Board of Directors
Wilkes-Barre Attorney will provide leadership through six-year term
Harrisburg, PA (December 21, 2009) - The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) announced today that Governor Ed Rendell's appointment of Murray Ufberg to serve a six-year term on its Board of Directors has been confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate. Ufberg is a partner in the Wilkes-Barre law firm of Rosenn, Jenkins & Greenwald, L.L.P. He will replace the seat previously held by J. Doyle Corman who resigned in March of 2008.
“Coming from the private sector with a wealth of professional experience, Mr. Ufberg will bring a fresh perspective that will help shape our discussions and decisions as the Board works in the service of Pennsylvania students and families,” said Representative William Adolph, PHEAA Board Chairman.
Ufberg is a graduate of Bucknell University and Duquesne University School of Law. He is currently Chairman of the Community Relations Council of Jewish Federation of Greater Wilkes-Barre, a Trustee of Misericordia University, and former Chairman of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business & Industry. Ufberg serves on numerous Board of Directors, including The Commonwealth Medical College, F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, Jewish Federation of Greater Wilkes-Barre, Jewish Community Center of Wyoming Valley and WVIA TV/FM/HDTV. He has been selected as a “Pennsylvania Super Lawyer” and “Marquis Who’s Who in American Law.”
