KeystoneBESTSM Student Loan Program Offers Students Stability

Low-cost student loan program supports student's dreams of higher education

Harrisburg, PA (April 14, 2009) - PHEAA announced today the continuation of Pennsylvania's preferred student loan program, KeystoneBESTSM, for the 2009-2010 academic year. KeystoneBESTSM offers students and their families the best possible Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) customer service and other benefits, while remaining a stable higher education funding resource that has helped millions of families since its inception in 1995.

“KeystoneBESTSM provides Pennsylvania students and schools with stability, access, choice, and customer service—all things that are critical in today's unpredictable financial markets,” said Representative William F. Adolph, Chairman of the PHEAA Board of Directors. “Students have saved hundreds of millions of dollars while our customer service initiatives have kept default rates low. Schools are also more efficient when using KeystoneBESTSM, allowing financial aid administrators more time to focus on their students.”

KeystoneBESTSM is backed by PHEAA's outstanding customer service, an industry-leading funds delivery process, and a large network of Pennsylvania lenders, ensuring that KeystoneBESTSM is the preferred choice for students and schools.

“PHEAA is offering students the stability of a proven program, access to loans via a strong network of lenders, the choice of which lender they prefer, and exceptional customer service,” said Senator Sean Logan, Vice Chairman of the PHEAA Board of Directors. “This is Pennsylvania's student loan program.”

Earnings generated by KeystoneBESTSM directly benefit Pennsylvania's students by providing additional dollars to pay for the administrative costs of the Pennsylvania State Grant Program, making more money available for State Grant awards.
